Yesterday for some reason my daily routine did not go as always. I normally wake up, say my prayers and have breakfast while watching YouTube. Standard I make 4 slices of bread with peanut butter and coffee. Somehow I made 6 slices to take with me to the studio. Stopping in the city so my youngest son Fierme could buy something I sat in the car with my wife Evy and started eating my peanut butter sandwiches. At some point I noticed a guy across the street going for a garbage can looking for food I guessed. I tried signalling him to come over but he did not see me. Luckily he decided to cross the street so I could call him. I asked him if he was hungry and if he wanted a sandwich. Realizing then why I made an extra sandwich that morning. After giving him one of my sandwiches I could not help getting tears in my eyes. The situation made me sad at the moment but it again showed me how grateful we all should be if we have access to basic things like a sandwich. One of the things I ask for everyday in my prayers is for more people and families to be able to have a breakfast like I’m having at least everyday. Think of others when you are enjoying the basics or as we with certain things say the good things in life. Maybe because of the week we are in I sound a bit extra religious or churchy but it’s just my experience this week that I want to share with you. I wish you all a Happy Easter weekend filled with gratitude. No, a life filled with gratitude, gratitude and more gratitude. If you read this I am grateful that you took the time to read this, my third blog.
New week
Last Saturday, March 18, 2017 I had the privilege to attend a workshop by Jean-luc van Charante named CREATE YOUR OWN CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN. The easy way he brings the material to the table is a big plus. We got to know the big players in the field, look at the 3 ways of crowdfunding and finally took a more in depth approach towards our own “local” ApuraNetworks by very practically signing up and setting up our own crowdfunding project draft online with ApuraNetworks. What was great to see is that there are a lot of persons with very interesting and meaningful projects. It was a 6 hour session with lunch in between and totally worth it. I got my project in the starting blocks so it gives me even more energy to make it a reality. I bet you are wondering what the project is right? Stay tuned and keep following the blog. Details will follow. Have a great week everyone !
First blog
Finally.
Our website. Yes I’m building it myself fresh out of a training by Jean-luc van Charante and with technical assistance from BitDynamics. Blog first because I always have something to show, say or share. We and by we I mean me and my all Evy de la Fuente started de la Fuente design on August 24, 1992. Graphic design started it all. We were one of the first with a full digital workflow adapting to the digital age in graphic design. Photography had my interest from the years at the Art Academy and was slowly becoming one of our main activities. First as part of our own designs but later also requested by graphic design colleagues and companies. Today we are more known for photography but we still enjoy designing a good logo and it’s complementary identity. An extension of photography is the photo coaching I do at AHKCO, NATIN and 1 on 1 on a more personal and customized level. Pics by PLU is our photography brand.
